Phoenix Monthly Roundup: July
July round up already, where is this year going?
Heywood In Bloom
This month we finally welcomed some sunshine to the Brewery courtyard, as well as the North West in Bloom judges.
Britain in Bloom inspires community groups in towns, cities and villages to make positive changes to their local environment through horticultural, environmental and community action.
We did our bit to spruce up the Brewery, with hanging baskets, barrels of flowers and even a Wobbly Bob cat. The little town of Heywood is looking lovely with lots of different businesses, schools and community buildings all getting involved. Hats off to the ‘Official Heywood in Bloom’ volunteers who have not only organised the event, but have also grafted to ensure our town has a brilliant shot at being awarded GOLD.
A big thank you to Manor Heath Park in Halifax and friend of the Brewery John who provided all the beautiful florals and our fantastic staff for never forgetting to get the watering cans out.

Flight, of the Phoenix
New Brew! Flight 3.7% a summery, easy drinking blonde ale – brewed with Centennial hops for a nicely balanced brew. Perfect for this lovely sunny weather we are having. A souring success selling out incredibly fast, enough to tempt us to brew it again! So, keep an eye out, if you didn’t manage to sample a pint or two this time, it will be back in your locals within the next few weeks.
A name we couldn’t resist creating a brew around. If you look closely you may recognise a few familiar faces on the clip, our fantastic team pulling along the ‘light as a feather’ aeroplane, rising from the ashes.

Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival
Andrew and Steve are always up for an outing to a Beer Festival. They headed to Chorlton Beer Festival at St Clements Church at the start of July. Where they enjoyed some fantastic ales, including Phoenix’s own White Monk 4.5% and brand new Special offering of Flight 3.7% Blonde Ale. Our beers went down really well, gaining great feedback and the guys had a great time meeting new people, chatting all things beer. We hope to attend again next year.

Hopwood College
Lucy and Becca were chuffed to be invited to visit Hopwood College in Rochdale, to check out the pupils end of year show. Phoenix Brewery approached the College a few years ago around working together to form a ‘live brief’ for the Design students to work on.
We shared information about the Brewery, its history, the brewing process and our plans for the future of Phoenix. And we were blown away by the work the students created. From Art students to Gaming students, Graphics and Media. The work was incredible and inspired us to continue to collaboration, so we look forward to working together again when the students return after their summer break. A huge thank you to the staff at Hopwood college and the talented students.
